1. Two calculations a year

The singles ranking is recalculated twice a year, in May and in October, from the results of the last twelve months. Every result therefore counts twice: in the next calculation, and in the one after.

  • In 2026, the May calculation took place in the week of 11 May (results from 12 May 2025 to 10 May 2026).
  • The October one takes place in the week of 28 September (results from 20 October 2025 to 27 September 2026).
  • New rankings are published no later than ten days after the calculation. Interclubs are always played with the October ranking.

Between two calculations your ranking does not change: it is your points that move, tournament after tournament.

2. What a tournament earns you

In each category played, a player adds up three things:

  • The round reached — points set by a grid specific to each category (last 16, quarter-final, final, title…). They are adjusted to the number of entrants: 60 % with 2 or 3 players, 100 % from 16 to 23, up to 110 % from 32.
  • The win bonus — for each match won, a value that depends on the ranking of the opponent beaten. Beating someone stronger earns more.
  • The participation bonus — 2 points per match played.

Losing your first match earns no round points, and in practice the category does not count towards the ranking.

3. Your six best results

Only your six best results of the period count. Their total is divided by six. With fewer than six competitions, the total is weighted instead of being divided by six:

CompetitionsCalculation
180 % of the total
284 % of the total ÷ 2
388 % of the total ÷ 3
492 % of the total ÷ 4
596 % of the total ÷ 5
6 or morethe best 6 ÷ 6

Interclubs count as one competition. The three best wins are kept: 100 % ÷ 3 with three wins, 80 % ÷ 2 with two, 60 % with one. Without a win, interclubs earn nothing — but the matches played still count towards being ranked.

4. A pyramid, not fixed thresholds

A ranking is not a number of points to reach: it is a place in a pyramid. Each step holds a fixed percentage of players — under 1 % at the top, almost a quarter at the base. The points a step requires therefore depend on what everyone else does, and change with every calculation.

That is why two views are useful: the official cuts, the points windows published at each past calculation, and the live pyramid, our estimate of today's thresholds.

To be calculated, you must have played at least two official matches during the period.

5. Moving up and down

Moving up is limited by the number of matches won during the period (walkover wins do not count):

  • no win: no promotion;
  • 1 or 2 wins: one step at most;
  • 3 or 4 wins: two steps at most;
  • 5 wins or more: two steps at most in a single competition, unlimited from two competitions.

Moving down is limited too: one step at most per calculation, and never in two consecutive calculations. A player without enough matches for eighteen months automatically drops one step. And anyone who has reached C30.5 can never drop back to C30.6.

6. Juniors

Under-9s, under-11s and under-13s each have their own pyramid, from .1 to .8 (for example 11.3). Their bonuses are reduced by age: 100 % for U13, 65 % for U11, 40 % for U9.

  • When moving up an age category, a .1 or .2 automatically receives a ranking two steps lower in the next category (9.1 becomes 11.3).
  • An under-13 also holds an adult ranking, which opens adult tournaments from "C30".
  • The top 0.5 % of under-13s join the adult pyramid for good.

7. Follow your ranking live

The federation only counts a tournament once the referee has closed it, and only recalculates in May and October. Tennistiq calculates your points after every tournament, with the same rules, and projects your ranking onto today's pyramid — so you know how many points you are missing before the next calculation.

This summary does not replace Tennis Belgium's 2026 singles ranking regulations, which alone are authoritative.
